Privacy Policy

This policy explains what PaxDerm collects when you visit the site or place an order, why we collect it, and who it is shared with.

The short version: we collect what we need to take your order, ship it, and answer your questions. We never see your card details, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

When you place an order we collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and a phone number if you give us one. We also keep your order history.

When you browse the site we collect your IP address, and basic browser and device information, through cookies and analytics.

What we never collect

We never see or store your card number. When you pay by card, the card fields at checkout are served directly by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card details are encrypted in your browser and sent straight to Stripe — they never pass through paxderm.com or touch our servers at any point. If you pay by PayPal, you complete the payment on PayPal’s own site and we never see those details either.

All we receive back is a confirmation that the payment succeeded and the last four digits of the card, so we can identify your order if you contact us. Stripe and PayPal are certified at the highest level of the payment card industry’s security standard, PCI DSS Level 1, and both are used by millions of businesses worldwide.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

What we do with your information

We use it to take your order, take payment, ship your parcel, keep you posted on where it is, and answer you when you get in touch.

If you ask us to, we also use your email address to send you barrier tips and news about new releases. That is the only marketing we send, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

Also, if you ever report a reaction to one of our products, we keep a record of it, because we are required to.

Who else sees your information

Only the companies that help us run the business, and only ever the part they need to do their job. That means Stripe and PayPal to take payment, the carrier to deliver your parcel, our email platform to send your order confirmation, our analytics provider to tell us how the site is being used, and our web host, which stores the site and its database.

Nobody else. We do not sell your information, and we never hand it to anyone for their own marketing. The one exception is if the law requires us to disclose it.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Ours keep your cart working, remember that you are signed in, and, through Google Analytics, tell us how people move around the site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of its analytics entirely. Worth knowing, though: blocking cookies altogether will stop the cart and checkout from working.

How long we keep your information

Order records stay with us as long as we need them for accounting purposes and tax laws require.

Your email address stays on our marketing list until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only the fact that you unsubscribed, so that we do not email you again by mistake.

And as above, any reported reaction is kept for as long as the law requires.

Your rights over your information

You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete your personal information.

To make a request, email support@paxderm.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. Tell us whether you want to access, correct, or delete your information. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.

We will respond to your request within 30 days. There is no charge for making a privacy request.

When you request deletion, we will remove you from our marketing communications and promptly close your account.

We may need to retain some information for a limited period. For example, if you have an order within its 30-day return period, we must retain the order record to identify and process a return. After the return period ends, we are required to retain certain sales records for tax and other legal purposes.

We will delete any personal information we are not required to retain.

Children

This site is not directed to anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, email support@paxderm.com and we will delete it.
